My husband, Andrew, and I have been married for eleven years.

Last Thursday, I was cleaning our bedroom when I discovered a makeup bag tucked underneath our bed.

It wasn’t mine.

Inside were expensive brushes, foundation, lipstick, and a small mirror.

When I asked Andrew about it, he looked confused.

“I have no idea where that came from.”

Something about his reaction bothered me.

So I installed a camera in our bedroom.

The following afternoon, I told him I was going shopping.

About an hour later, my phone sent a motion notification.

I opened the footage.

Andrew walked into our bedroom with a woman I’d never seen before.

She opened the makeup bag.

I expected the worst.

Then Andrew sat in front of our mirror.

**The woman started applying makeup to HIS face.**

I watched as she helped him put on a wig and practice different expressions.

When I confronted him that evening, he finally explained.

He’d secretly joined a local theater group and was rehearsing for a musical.

The woman was the production’s makeup artist.

He’d always wanted to perform but had been embarrassed to tell me because his family used to mock his interest in acting.

I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

I told him I wasn’t upset about the theater.

**I was upset that he’d lied instead of trusting me.**

Two weeks later, I attended his first performance.

And yes, I sat in the front row.
