**My Grandma Raised Three Boys Alone — Six Months After a Neighbor Humiliated Her, That Woman Got the Shock of Her Life**

My grandma was 52 when our parents died. She raised my two brothers and me, sacrificing everything, even repairing her own shoes so we could have new ones.

At 70, she finally accepted an invitation to dance from Arthur, a widower down the street. She bought a beautiful blue dress, but her neighbor Darlene laughed.

“Have you looked in the mirror? You really think Arthur wants you?”

Grandma canceled and cried. “I just wanted someone to hold my hand again.”

My brothers and I spent six months helping her rediscover herself. She joined swimming classes, made friends, started dancing, and smiled again.

Then Darlene appeared at Grandma’s door, smugly announcing, **“Arthur is taking me dancing tonight.”**

Grandma simply smiled.

Just then, Arthur walked out of the kitchen, kissed Grandma’s cheek, and handed her coat.

“Ready, sweetheart?”

Darlene froze. “But you’re taking ME!”

“I offered you a ride,” Arthur explained. **“My date is your neighbor.”**

Her peach pie crashed onto the floor.

We soon learned Grandma and Arthur had secretly been dating almost six months. He’d admired her for years — long before she bought the dress or changed a thing.

That evening Grandma left for her dance, holding his hand. **She’d never needed to become someone else to deserve love.**
