**My Sister Borrowed $25,000 to Save Her Home—Then Went on Vacations Instead of Paying Me Back**

After selling my flower shop, I had savings to start over. Then my younger sister, Lisa, showed up crying.

Rick’s construction business was failing. They were three months behind on their mortgage and needed $25,000 to avoid losing their house.

I lent them the money. We signed an agreement promising repayment within two years.

Months passed. No payments. Instead, Lisa posted vacation photos, restaurant dinners, and pictures of Rick’s new truck.

When I finally asked about the loan, she snapped, **”You said you could afford it.”**

I hadn’t said I could give it away.

After two years of excuses, I cut contact.

Later, a cousin told me Rick had borrowed from other relatives and never repaid them either.

Then, two years after our falling-out, Lisa called. She’d discovered Rick had secretly stashed thousands from side jobs. She was divorcing him.

“I should’ve believed you,” she whispered.

Three months later, a $25,000 check arrived.

But the real surprise came when Lisa showed up at one of my flower-arranging workshops. She wasn’t asking for money. She wanted to rebuild her life—and earn back my trust.

We didn’t become close overnight. We began helping other women start over.

**I learned that forgiveness is possible, but trust requires action.**
