So when she had kids and asked me to babysit, I never hesitated. For the past <strong data-start=\"240\" data-end=\"254\">five years<\/strong>, I\u2019ve been her go-to babysitter\u2014every weekend, every \u201cemergency,\u201d anytime she needed help. I never questioned it because I love my nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"407\" data-end=\"552\">Last week she asked if I could watch the kids for <strong data-start=\"457\" data-end=\"470\">two weeks<\/strong> while she and her husband went to Hawaii for their anniversary. I happily agreed.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"554\" data-end=\"688\">But yesterday, while the kids were playing, I overheard a conversation between my sister and her husband that completely shattered me.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"690\" data-end=\"855\">She said, <strong data-start=\"700\" data-end=\"855\">\u201cMy sister has always done whatever I tell her. She\u2019s like a little lapdog that will do anything for my affection\u2026 even though I feel nothing for her.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"857\" data-end=\"893\">Then she added something even worse.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"895\" data-end=\"972\"><strong data-start=\"895\" data-end=\"972\">\u201cShe probably watches the kids to compensate for her terrible love life.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"974\" data-end=\"986\">I felt sick.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"988\" data-end=\"1136\">I walked in and told her that if she thought so little of me, she could find someone else to watch her kids while she went on vacation. Then I left.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1138\" data-end=\"1227\">Now she\u2019s calling nonstop, saying she\u2019ll <strong data-start=\"1179\" data-end=\"1189\">pay me<\/strong> if I come back and stick to the plan.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1229\" data-end=\"1325\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">But now I\u2019m wondering\u2026 after hearing what she really thinks of me, <strong data-start=\"1296\" data-end=\"1325\" data-is-last-node=\"\">should I help her at all?<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My sister and I were always close, or at least I believed we were.
