When I got pregnant about six months into our marriage, my husband suddenly became a different person. He would send nonstop texts throughout the day about his fantasies, and it quickly became overwhelming. I didn\u2019t feel like his wife anymore\u2014I felt like an object.<\/p>\n

Looking back, I wish I had seen that side of him earlier. Maybe we could have addressed it before it grew into something that hurt our relationship. Therapy might have helped sooner. But at the time, I was already emotional from the pregnancy and preparing to become a new mom. I didn\u2019t have the energy to carry that weight too.<\/p>\n

So I made the hardest decision I could imagine: I asked for a divorce.<\/p>\n

We stayed apart for about a year and a half. During that time, we both went to therapy individually. Despite everything, we still loved each other. Eventually, we began talking again and realized that we both wanted to try\u2014but this time differently.<\/p>\n

Before remarrying, we made one rule: we had to attend couples therapy and truly work through the past before moving forward.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve now been remarried for three years, and our relationship is stronger than it ever was before.<\/p>\n

Sometimes I wonder if I made the decision to divorce too quickly. Maybe. But in many ways, that separation became the thing that saved our marriage and helped us grow.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
