I delivered a pizza to an elderly woman one cold night, and something immediately felt wrong. Her house was dark, freezing, and nearly empty. She paid with a bag of coins and insisted she was \u201cperfectly fine,\u201d but it was clear she was struggling.<\/p>\n

After leaving, I couldn\u2019t shake the feeling. Instead of driving away, I contacted the police for a welfare check. I thought I was helping.<\/p>\n

But when I drove back past her house, an ambulance was there. As paramedics helped her out, she pointed at me and said, \u201cThis is your fault.\u201d<\/p>\n
