When I was about eight, I casually asked my dad if we could play \u201cthe naked man game.\u201d<\/p>\n

He froze.<\/p>\n

Trying not to panic, he asked carefully, \u201cWhat\u2019s that?\u201d<\/p>\n

I shrugged and said, \u201cIt\u2019s the game we play when the babysitter comes over.\u201d<\/p>\n

At that point, his heart was probably racing. He tried to stay calm and said, \u201cOkay\u2026 can you show me what you mean?\u201d<\/p>\n

So I took his hand, walked him to the closet, opened the door, and pointed up at a board game sitting on the shelf.<\/p>\n

\u201cRight there,\u201d I said.<\/p>\n

It was Operation<\/strong>\u2014the game with the little naked guy on the table.<\/p>\n

My dad told me years later that in those few seconds, his mind had gone to the absolute worst place possible. He was preparing himself for a conversation no parent ever wants to have.<\/p>\n

And then\u2026 instant relief.<\/p>\n

Turns out, the \u201cnaked man game\u201d was just a battery-powered board game with tweezers and a buzzing nose.<\/p>\n
