My 24-year-old son moved in with his girlfriend last year, and everything changed. We used to be close, but now he hasn\u2019t visited me once\u2014even though he lives just 10 minutes away.<\/p>\n

I still try. I call, I text, I even send him money for groceries just to help. But most of the time, he doesn\u2019t answer. It\u2019s been painful, especially living alone and missing the connection we once had.<\/p>\n

Last week, feeling particularly lonely, I called him several times in a row. When he finally picked up, I tried to talk like normal\u2026 but he cut me off.<\/p>\n

\u201cEither you stop calling me every day, or I\u2019ll block you.\u201d<\/p>\n

That broke me.<\/p>\n

I never meant to overwhelm him\u2014I just miss my son. But now I\u2019m starting to wonder if my constant calls are pushing him further away instead of bringing him closer.<\/p>\n

I understand he has his own life now. Still, it hurts to feel like I no longer have a place in it.<\/p>\n

Maybe this is one of the hardest parts of being a parent\u2014learning when to hold on\u2026 and when to step back.<\/p>\n

Now I\u2019m left asking myself: am I showing love\u2026 or crossing a boundary without realizing it?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
