Then one evening, everything changed.<\/p>\n

My parents, two uncles, and Grandma gathered in the kitchen. They told me to stay in my bedroom with the door closed because they needed to discuss a \u201cgrown-up matter.\u201d<\/p>\n

Their voices grew louder as the night continued. I heard my father shouting and Grandma crying, but I was too frightened to leave the room.<\/p>\n

The following morning, we drove home without saying goodbye.<\/p>\n

After that, our visits stopped completely. Whenever I asked about Grandma, my parents claimed she had moved away and didn\u2019t want contact with us.<\/p>\n

Grandma had been arrested for stealing money from the family business.<\/p>\n

But the article revealed something my parents never told me: she had taken the money to pay for my uncle\u2019s lifesaving treatment after the family refused to help him.<\/p>\n

She accepted all the blame and went to prison rather than expose the relatives who had falsified documents to protect themselves.<\/p>\n

I eventually found her living quietly in a care home.<\/p>\n

When she saw me, she began crying.<\/p>\n
