My husband, Daniel, and I married only a few months after meeting. Everything moved fast, and before we knew it, we were parents to a beautiful baby girl.<\/p>\n

Seven months after her birth, we visited Daniel\u2019s parents for lunch.<\/p>\n

While we were outside talking, Daniel went inside to grab some food. Several minutes passed, and he didn\u2019t return.<\/p>\n

Curious, I followed him.<\/p>\n

As I reached the hallway, I heard him talking to his parents.<\/p>\n

Then his voice cracked.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know how much longer I can keep pretending I\u2019m okay.\u201d<\/p>\n

My heart sank.<\/p>\n

I immediately assumed he regretted marrying me.<\/p>\n

But then he said something I never expected.<\/p>\n

He admitted he had been struggling badly since our daughter was born. He felt exhausted, anxious, and terrified that he wasn\u2019t a good enough husband or father. He had been hiding everything because he thought I already had enough to handle.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love them more than anything,\u201d he cried. \u201cI just feel like I\u2019m failing every day.\u201d<\/p>\n

I stepped into the room with tears in my eyes.<\/p>\n

Daniel looked horrified that I had heard him.<\/p>\n

Instead of getting angry, I hugged him.<\/p>\n

That evening, we finally talked openly about how overwhelmed we both felt. We agreed to ask family for more help and started making time for each other again.<\/p>\n

The conversation I feared would destroy our marriage actually saved it.<\/p>\n

Sometimes distance doesn\u2019t mean someone stopped loving you.<\/p>\n
