My son, Mason, came home from school looking devastated.<\/p>\n

He had been saving money for weeks to buy a birthday gift for his grandfather.<\/p>\n

That afternoon, he whispered, \u201cMom, it\u2019s gone.\u201d<\/p>\n

He explained that during break, he left his pencil case on his desk and went to the restroom.<\/p>\n

When he came back, the money had disappeared.<\/p>\n

I knew walking into the classroom and accusing someone would only create a mess.<\/p>\n

So instead, I called his teacher and asked for a quiet solution.<\/p>\n

The next morning, she placed a plain envelope on every student\u2019s desk.<\/p>\n

She told the class, \u201cIf anyone accidentally picked up something that wasn\u2019t theirs, you can return it privately. No names. No questions.\u201d<\/p>\n

At first, nothing happened.<\/p>\n

Then, just before lunch, one envelope appeared on her desk.<\/p>\n

Not one dollar was missing.<\/p>\n
