Her patient, Marcus, needed a painful tooth removed, but the moment she prepared the numbing injection, he pulled away.<\/p>\n

\u201cAbsolutely not,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019d rather deal with the toothache than a needle.\u201d<\/p>\n

She patiently put the syringe aside.<\/p>\n

\u201cOkay. We have other options.\u201d<\/p>\n

Next, she suggested nitrous oxide.<\/p>\n

Marcus looked at the mask and shook his head even faster.<\/p>\n
