I was walking my dog, Milo, just before dark when he suddenly stopped beside a thick hedge near the park.<\/p>\n

After several minutes, I finally picked him up and carried him away, telling him he was being ridiculous.<\/p>\n

He had been staring into one specific spot beneath the bush.<\/p>\n

When I pushed the branches apart, I heard a tiny sound.<\/p>\n
A kitten was trapped underneath a piece of broken fencing.<\/p>\n
It was soaked, trembling, and barely making any noise.<\/p>\n
Milo must have heard it long before I did.<\/p>\n
I carefully lifted the wire and pulled the kitten free.<\/p>\n
A nearby animal clinic was still open, so I rushed it there.<\/p>\n
Thankfully, nothing was broken. It was dehydrated and frightened, but otherwise okay.<\/p>\n

A few days later, no owner had come forward.<\/p>\n
