A Stranger’s Kindness We Didn’t Expect

My daughter recently left her phone at the playground and was absolutely heartbroken. We searched everywhere, but it was gone.

Three days later, I got a call from a man who said he had found it. We arranged to meet, and I was already preparing myself for a damaged, rain-soaked phone.

But when he handed it over, it looked… fine.

I offered him money to thank him, but he politely refused. Curious, we took the case off right there—and just stared. The phone was completely dry, clean, and even had a brand-new battery.

It had rained heavily the day it was lost, so there was no way it survived like that on its own. He must have taken the time to fix it himself.

I was honestly speechless. This man didn’t just return a lost phone—he went out of his way to repair it and refused anything in return.

My daughter hugged her phone like she’d gotten a piece of her world back.

And I walked away reminded of something simple but powerful:

Kindness like that still exists.

And maybe, just maybe, the world isn’t as hopeless as it sometimes feels.
