Sarah Palin gets candid about her shattering divorce and finding love again
Former Alaska governor and 2008 vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin has spoken openly about the painful end of her 31-year marriage to Todd Palin.
Todd filed for divorce in 2019, citing incompatibility. Sarah later described the separation as “earth shattering,” saying she reportedly first learned about the filing through an email from his attorney.
In the years since, Palin found companionship with former NHL player Ron Duguay. Their relationship reportedly began after she contacted him for advice regarding her defamation lawsuit against The New York Times.
Palin has said Duguay became someone she could openly discuss personal matters with, not just politics.
Their relationship has also faced serious challenges. Duguay has battled stage IV colon cancer, and his daughter has praised Palin for being deeply supportive throughout his treatment, including staying with him in the hospital after surgery.
Despite living long distance, the couple have remained close and supportive of each other.
