Entitled Woman Called Me, a 72-Year-Old Waitress, ‘Rude’ and Walked Out on a $112 Bill – I Showed Her She Picked the Wrong Grandma

I’m 72 and have been waitressing for over 20 years at a small-town Texas diner. Most customers are kind, but last Friday one woman crossed a line.

She came in during lunch rush, live-streaming the whole time, criticizing everything for her audience. First the tea was “lukewarm,” then the salad was “dry,” then the service was “rude.” I stayed polite, kept smiling, and did my job.

When I brought the check, she looked shocked. Her total was $112 after food, drinks, sides, and dessert. She turned to her phone, accused us of overcharging her, said I had “ruined the vibe,” grabbed her purse, and walked out without paying.

She thought that was the end of it.

It wasn’t.

I told my manager I wasn’t letting her get away with it. One of the younger servers, Simon, helped me track her down around town while she kept filming like nothing had happened. Every time she thought she had escaped, I showed up again with that unpaid bill.

At the grocery store. At a coffee shop. Even at a yoga studio.

Finally, in front of everyone, she gave up and handed over the full $112.

I looked her in the eye and said, “You eat, you pay. That’s how life works.”

She picked the wrong granny that day.
