My Stepmom Refused to Give Me Money for a Prom Dress – My Brother Sewed One from Our Late Mom’s Jeans Collection, and What Happened Next Made Her Jaw Drop

My stepmom laughed at the prom dress my little brother made for me out of our late mom’s old jeans.
After our dad died, Carla took control of everything — the house, the bills, and the money our mom had left for Noah and me. When I asked for a prom dress, she laughed and said:
“No one wants to see you prancing around in some overpriced princess costume.”
I cried for hours.
Then my 15-year-old brother walked into my room carrying a pile of Mom’s old jeans and quietly asked:
“Do you trust me?”
For weeks, we secretly worked on the dress together using Mom’s old sewing machine. He stitched together different shades of denim into something beautiful.
When Carla saw it, she burst out laughing.
“That patchwork mess?” she sneered. “The whole school is going to laugh at you.”
But on prom night, nobody laughed.
Teachers, students, and parents kept stopping me to ask where I bought it. Then, during the school showcase, the principal suddenly pointed at Carla in the crowd and said:
“I know you.”
Turns out he knew my mother — and exactly what money she had left behind for her children.
Then the estate attorney stood up and confirmed Carla had been blocking access to our trust funds for months.
The entire room turned on her.
And while she stood there humiliated, my little brother finally heard something he deserved all along:
“That dress is incredible.”
