The Honeymoon Call That Left Mom Speechless

As soon as the newlyweds returned from their honeymoon, the young bride called her mother, who lived a couple of hours away.
“How did everything go?” her mom asked eagerly.
“Oh, Mother,” she began, “the honeymoon was wonderful. The beaches were beautiful, the food was amazing, and my husband treated me like a queen.”
“That sounds perfect!” her mother replied.
“It was… until we got home.”
“What happened?”
The bride sighed dramatically.
“The moment we walked through the front door, he started using all these strange words I’d never heard before. I didn’t know what they meant, and I was too embarrassed to ask.”
Her mother grew concerned.
“What kind of words?”
The bride lowered her voice.
“He kept saying things like ‘dusting,’ ‘vacuuming,’ ‘laundry,’ ‘groceries,’ ‘washing dishes,’ and ‘cleaning the bathroom.’”
There was a long silence.
Finally, her mother chuckled.
“And what did you say?”
“I told him I’d never heard such language in my life!”
Her mother burst into laughter.
“So what happened next?”
“He smiled, handed me the TV remote, put on an apron, and started making dinner.”
“And then?”
The bride laughed too.
“I realized I’d married the right man… but he quickly realized he’d married someone who still had a lot to learn.”
Her mother smiled and said, “Welcome to married life, sweetheart. The honeymoon lasts a week—the chores last forever.”
