My Husband Thought He Ended the Call—But I Saw Everything

At six months pregnant, I had been dealing with headaches and exhaustion, so when my husband, Aaron, said he still wanted to attend the Fourth of July celebration with his family, I told him to go.

His mother had already suggested I stay home because the parade would be crowded and loud.

I didn’t mind.

Then, that afternoon, the kitchen faucet suddenly broke and water started spraying everywhere.

Panicking, I FaceTimed Aaron because I couldn’t figure out which valve to shut off.

He ignored my first two calls.

Fifteen minutes later, he finally answered, breathing heavily.

“I’m with Grandpa,” he said. “Call a plumber. I can’t talk.”

The video froze.

Aaron apparently thought the call had ended.

It hadn’t.

For several seconds, I could still see through his camera.

He wasn’t with his grandfather.

He was sitting beside a woman I recognized immediately—his former girlfriend, Megan.

Then I heard her laugh and say, “You really told her you were with your family?”

My stomach dropped.

I recorded the screen before Aaron finally disconnected.

That evening, he came home carrying leftovers and acting completely normal.

I asked how his grandfather was.

“Great,” he answered.

Then I placed my phone on the table and played the recording.

Aaron went silent.

He eventually admitted he had been meeting Megan for weeks, insisting nothing physical had happened.

But by then, the exact details barely mattered.

He had left his pregnant wife alone, ignored an emergency, and lied directly to my face.

The broken faucet was repaired the next morning.

Our trust wasn’t nearly as easy to fix.
