My Family Dumped Me in a Nursing Home, So I Came Up with the Most Brilliant Revenge Ever — Story of the Day

As I got older, I finally admitted I needed help.

My son Thomas suggested moving into my house with his wife Amber and their child. Wanting security, I transferred the house to him on one condition: he would never abandon me.

He promised.

Then Thomas left on a long business trip.

Almost immediately, Amber began telling him I was confused and dangerous. She invented stories about me leaving appliances on and forgetting their son at the park.

After I became dizzy one afternoon, she packed my suitcase and drove me to a nursing home.

“This isn’t your home anymore,” she said.

Then she bribed an employee and whispered, “Finally, I’m rid of you.”

But she made one mistake.

An old childhood friend, Joe, happened to co-own the facility and witnessed everything.

Together, we planned a lesson.

We created a fake $1 million lottery check, rented a luxury house and car, and invited Thomas and Amber to dinner.

Believing I had suddenly become rich, Amber became unbelievably friendly.

I offered them the “new house” and car, asking only one small favor in return: sign my original house back to me.

They agreed immediately.

Then Joe raised his glass.

“To the fake lottery that helped Linda get her home back.”

Their faces dropped.

A week later, I moved home.

Eventually, Thomas divorced Amber and began rebuilding our relationship.

Sometimes revenge isn’t about destroying someone.

Sometimes it’s simply about taking back what was yours.
