My Husband Started Acting Strange After I Got Pregnant — I Followed Him to Work and Discovered What He Was Hiding

I was about four months pregnant when my husband, Nathan, started acting differently.
He used to come home around six, help with dinner, and spend the evening with me.
Then he started working late almost every night.
He was always exhausted, showered immediately, and barely had the energy to talk.
We stopped going out. He stopped buying little things he knew I liked.
I started wondering if there was someone else.
One Thursday, he texted saying he’d be working late again.
I checked his location and saw he was at a warehouse across town.
That wasn’t where his office was.
I drove there, convinced I was about to catch him cheating.
Instead, I saw Nathan unloading heavy boxes from a delivery truck.
He was wearing a warehouse uniform.
I waited until his supervisor walked outside and asked what was going on.
The man looked confused.
“Your husband? He’s been working evening shifts here for almost two months.”
I couldn’t believe it.
When Nathan saw me, he immediately started apologizing.
He’d been laid off from his regular job.
Every morning, he left home to apply for positions and attend interviews. In the evenings, he worked at the warehouse.
He hadn’t told me because he was embarrassed and worried about supporting us when the baby arrived.
I started crying.
Not because he’d lost his job.
Because he’d been carrying all that worry alone.
We went home, made a budget, and talked properly for the first time in weeks.
I still wish he’d trusted me enough to tell me sooner.
