My Cheapskate Husband Gave His Mother and His Ex a $10K Beach Vacation, but He Had No Idea What I’d Do Next

My husband, Steve, treated every dollar like it needed a committee vote. No birthday gifts. No anniversary flowers. Meanwhile, I paid bills, furnished the house, even covered his phone.
So when I saw a $10,000 charge from a luxury beach resort, I assumed it was fraud.
“It’s for my mom,” he said calmly. “She deserves a vacation.”
But something felt wrong.
That night, I checked social media. Bright sand. Two cocktails. A rainbow umbrella.
Steve’s mother…
and his ex, Tessa.
They had no idea my response would be immediate.
I grabbed my keys and drove three hours to the resort, fueled by every lie he’d ever told. At the front desk, they confirmed it: Mr. Mallory and his guest were by the pool.
I found him shirtless, smug, sipping from a pineapple. She sat beside him.
He looked up, saw me, and went white.
“Babe, I can explain—”
“Don’t,” I said. “I already sent the photos and receipt to your mom. And my lawyer.”
Silence.
I walked away, called my attorney, and asked, “Can we file for divorce and fraud at the same time?”
“We can.”
By the time I got home, I’d frozen the accounts, changed the locks, and sent evidence to his boss. Turns out, they didn’t love the misuse of a company card.
He lost the trip.
He lost the job.
Soon, he’d lose the house.
Me?
I booked myself first class.
No husbands allowed.
