Michael J. Fox’s children have grown up witnessing a side of his Parkinson’s battle that the public rarely sees.
Since his 1991 diagnosis, Fox and his wife, Tracy Pollan, have worked to keep their four children—Sam, Aquinnah, Schuyler, and Esme—grounded despite fame, illness, surgeries, and public attention.
Through it all, Fox made family his priority. His children watched him face difficult moments with humor, honesty, and determination, learning that strength doesn’t mean avoiding hardship—it means continuing through it.
They also witnessed him transform his personal struggle into a worldwide mission through the Michael J. Fox Foundation, raising awareness and funding Parkinson’s research.
Although Fox eventually stepped away from acting, he has often made clear that his greatest achievements aren’t awards or successful movies.
For him, the most meaningful legacy is the close family he built and the four independent adults his children became.
