The 14-year-olds became Britain’s youngest parents

In 2010, April Webster and Nathan Fishbourne became the youngest parents in the UK. April was just 13 when she became pregnant, and Nathan was 14 when their son, Jamie, was born—drawing widespread public attention, both supportive and critical.

They met at St. Cenydd School in Caerphilly, South Wales. April discovered her pregnancy just a day before turning 14. Jamie was born in November 2010 via cesarean section and soon needed surgery for a malformed oesophagus. After 11 days in hospital, he recovered well enough to go home.

Raising a child so young brought major challenges. April lived with her parents, who supported her in caring for Jamie, while Nathan planned to help on weekends. Despite early efforts, the couple eventually separated. By 2014, April confirmed they were no longer in contact and chose to focus on raising her son with the support of her family.

Today, their lives have taken different paths. Now 28, April—known as April Lianna—is a mother of three and shares a stable life with her partner, Jake Jones. Nathan is engaged to Samantha, and both have moved forward, building their own lives while remaining connected through their son.
