I Agreed to Be a Surrogate for My Sister – But Right After I Gave Birth, My Husband Pulled Me Aside and Said, ‘Please Don’t Give Her the Baby Yet’

I Carried My Sister’s Baby — But After the Birth, My Husband Begged Me Not to Give Him to Her

My sister wanted a baby more than anything in the world, but doctors told her she could never safely carry one herself.

So I became her surrogate.

For nine months, I carried her son. My husband supported me through every appointment, every kick, every sleepless night. We all believed we were building something beautiful together.

But as the due date got closer, my sister started changing.

She became obsessed with the baby. Possessive. Intense.

At first, I told myself it was just fear and excitement.

Then I gave birth.

The second our son cried, my sister stared at him with a look that terrified me. Not joy. Not relief.

Desperation.

When the nurses took him to clean him up, my husband pulled out his phone and whispered:

“Please don’t hand him over yet.”

He showed me messages from my sister’s husband saying she had become unstable. She believed the baby was “the only thing keeping her alive” and was already planning to disappear with him after the birth.

I felt physically sick.

To protect my nephew… I had to become the villain in my sister’s story.

The hospital delayed custody and my sister entered treatment.

Months later, during supervised therapy, she finally looked at me and whispered:

“Thank you for taking care of him.”

And that’s when I knew my sister was finally coming back to us.
