My Husband Missed Our Grandson’s Birthday for a ‘Work Emergency’ – Then I Saw Where He Really Was

My husband skipped our grandson Noah’s birthday because of a supposed work emergency. Hours later, I spotted his car outside a restaurant—and found him holding another woman’s hand.
The next day, I followed him.
He drove to a house where the same woman appeared with a young man in his twenties. My husband hugged him tightly. Then the young man looked directly at me like he already knew who I was.
That evening, I confronted my husband, Dean.
Before he could explain, the young man showed up at our door.
His name was Evan.
And he was Dean’s nephew.
For 24 years of marriage, Dean had never told me he once had a younger brother named Michael.
Michael had died in a car accident before Dean met me.
Dean had been driving.
Michael’s widow, Linda, had blamed Dean and kept him away from Evan. Dean eventually sent money and birthday cards, but guilt convinced him he didn’t deserve to be part of Evan’s life.
Years passed.
Then Evan discovered Dean online and saw photos of the family his uncle had built.
“You got to be a dad. You got to be a grandpa,” Evan told him. “I just wanted you to be my uncle.”
That broke Dean.
Weeks later, Evan returned.
As he left, he quietly said, “Goodnight, Uncle Dean.”
For the first time in decades, Dean answered.
