I Thought My Husband Was Cheating With Our Housekeeper — Then I Came Home Early and Found Her Packing My Clothes

My husband, Daniel, hired a housekeeper about five months ago.
Her name was Rachel, and she came twice a week.
At first, I appreciated the help. We both worked long hours, and keeping up with everything was exhausting.
Then I noticed Daniel always arranged to work from home on the days Rachel came.
He also started texting her outside working hours.
I asked about it once, but he said they were discussing cleaning schedules.
Something still felt wrong.
One Thursday, I left work early without telling him.
When I walked inside, I noticed clothes scattered near the stairs.
Upstairs, I heard someone moving around our bedroom.
I pushed open the door.
Rachel was kneeling beside several cardboard boxes, carefully folding my dresses.
“What’s going on?” I asked.
She looked terrified.
Then she showed me a message from Daniel.
“She won’t be home until six. Make sure everything expensive is packed before then.”
I demanded an explanation.
Rachel told me Daniel had been selling my designer clothes and handbags online.
He’d claimed they belonged to him and that I’d agreed to it.
I checked the boxes.
Several expensive pieces were already missing.
When Daniel came home, he finally admitted he’d accumulated gambling debts and had been secretly selling my belongings to cover them.
I contacted the resale platforms and documented everything.
Then I packed a suitcase.
I’d suspected another woman. I never imagined my husband was stealing from me.
