They Tried to Cut My Adopted Son Out of My Life—So I Left Everything to Him Instead

I’m 78 years old. I raised my three biological children on my own, and later, I adopted Brandon. Over the years, my children became busy with their own lives—but Brandon always stayed close.

He called often, checked on me, and helped whenever I needed it.

For a long time, I planned to divide my inheritance equally among all four of them. In my heart, there was no difference between my biological children and Brandon.

But recently, everything changed.

My eldest daughter handed me a set of forms—documents that would give my three biological children power of attorney over my affairs, completely leaving Brandon out. She said I had become forgetful and eccentric, and insisted this would ensure my finances and medical decisions were handled properly.

Then she made a shocking claim.

She told me Brandon was in deep debt and possibly hiding serious problems.

That evening, I asked Brandon if it was true. He swore it wasn’t.

As I thought about what my children were trying to do, something didn’t feel right. They weren’t protecting me—they were shutting him out.

I realized I couldn’t keep my inheritance divided equally anymore.

So I changed my will and left everything to Brandon instead.

The following week, my children called to apologize and begged me to reconsider—but the hurt ran too deep for me to change my mind.
