I Refuse to Cook Lunch for My Husband’s Family Every Sunday, So I Set the Perfect Trap

After moving into a beautiful new home with help from her in-laws, Kristin thought she was starting an exciting new chapter with her husband.

Instead, every Sunday became exhausting.

For four straight months, her husband’s entire family — eight people total — showed up for lunch at their house. Because the home was large and his parents had loaned them most of the money, everyone simply assumed Kristin would host.

Every single week, she cooked the meals alone.
Cleaned the house alone.
Washed every dish alone.

Not once did anyone offer to help.

When Kristin finally admitted to her husband that she felt overwhelmed and unappreciated, his response shocked her.

“My parents helped us buy this house,” he reminded her.
“This is the least we can do.”

That’s when Kristin decided she was done being treated like unpaid staff.

The following Sunday, she smiled warmly, cooked everyone’s favorite meal, and acted as though everything was perfectly normal.

But after lunch, just as the family relaxed in the living room, Kristin stood up calmly and made an announcement.

“The kitchen is a disaster,” she said.
“And today, cleaning it is your responsibility.”

The room went completely silent.

One by one, they walked into the kitchen and froze at the mountain of dirty dishes, pots, pans, and mess waiting for them.

For the first time, they finally saw what Kristin dealt with every week.
