My Neighbor Let Her Kids Use My Pool as a Public Toilet While I Was at Work – What I Left on Her Porch Made Her Go Pale

The pool my late husband built was the most meaningful part of my home. So when the water began smelling strange, I called a technician. He told me the equipment was fine and suggested checking my security camera.

What I saw left me furious.

My neighbor, Denise, had repeatedly entered my yard with her three sons while I was at work. She told them they didn’t need permission—and even instructed one child to use the pool as a toilet.

When I confronted her, she dismissed it as harmless and told me to clean the pool myself. I installed a stronger lock, but two days later, Denise arrived with a drill, removed it, and left it on my porch with a note calling me ridiculous.

Then she sent me her children’s schedule, expecting me to babysit them during her trip without ever asking.

That was when I realized she didn’t appreciate my kindness. She believed she owned it.

I returned her spare keys in a box along with the sanitation bill, gate-repair estimate, camera screenshots, and a list of every unpaid favor I would no longer perform.

She accused me of abandoning her children, but I calmly reminded her that they were safe with their mother.

Denise eventually paid the bills.

Later, her sons came to apologize. I told them they weren’t responsible—but from now on, they had to ask before entering.

My kindness was mine to offer.

So was the door.
